SDC 2019 Round 4 Night Fight

The Scottish Drift Championship`s final round is now complete, the final round had all of the components that a true nail biting final needs.
A total of 6 drivers had the potential to take the championship on the night and all of this pressure during a night fight battle in the dark in front of some truly dedicated spectators.
James Young our 2017 champion was leading this year’s assault to the top after Rd3. Closely followed by Kev Kay last year’s runner up in 2018. Stuart Mclellan sitting in 3rd place hoping for a big push to the win this year. Hot on his heels was Stuart Adsley 2018 Champion. Tied in 4th place with Stuart Adsley was Josh Duff the underpowered hero. Finishing off the 6 potentials in his V8 Lexus was Steve Allen.
The fireworks kicked off earlier than expected in the final round of the championship with Stuart Adsleys championship winning car finding some electrical gremlins on the eve of the championship. James Youngs car having a power steering pulley failure along with a snapped supercharger belt. Kev Kay and Stuart McLellan both struggling with grip issues.
James Young the championship leader unfortunately not making it out for practice or qualifying meant his championship hopes were over. Stuart Adsley jumping into a borrowed car having limited seat time in the car, never qualified.
Losing 2 of the competitions hot favourites the championship was left open to the remaining 4 to win.
Battles commenced under darkness with the blazing bonfire in the background. Some of the best battle driving of the season was witnessed at this round, several one more times were undertaken as final a clear cut winner for round 4 was proving a challenge for our panel of judges.
Battles completed the drivers headed to the podium area, the crowd and drivers still not knowing who had won the round or the 2019 Scottish Drift Championship as the points were so tight.
